Register for the 2021 Annual General Meeting!

Join us to reflect on the events of the last year, vote for the new FSACCI board, and forecast the rest of the year ahead!

The French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry invites all members, in good standing, to attend our second virtual Annual General Meeting on Thursday June 17th!

The AGM is an opportunity for the FSACCI team to reflect on the Chamber over the past year, and to allow members to elect the Board and have a voice in who will lead our business community over the next year.  

As a member in good standing, we strongly encourage you to fulfil your responsibility and attend this very important engagement. In the case that you are not available to attend the AGM, please delegate a representative and ensure that they fill in our proxy form so that we are aware of their attendance on your behalf.

Please note that only companies in good standing can attend the AGM.

Your 2021 Board Applicants | Alain Samy

Reside in SA since 15 years, 25 years experience in the shipping and forwarding logistic industry. Jumped into the entrepreneur world in 2016, founder of S A Network specializing in expatriates relocation and bespoke tours. Board member from 2008 to 2015 as corporate, now aspiring to join as entrepreneur.

Your 2021 Board Applicants | Emilie Bigot

Émilie Bigot is currently the financial director of Bureau Veritas Southern Africa. She holds a master degree from the french business school SKEMA, completed by the certificate in international finance from HEC paris. After working on international tenders in various companies such as Bouygues and the French alternative energies and atomic energy commission, she moved to South Africa with the Business France V.I.E program. 

She worked for Business France in South Africa as an international trade adviser for technology and financial services. 

After her placement, she joined Bureau Veritas South Africa as financial controller, where she has held the position of financial director for several years. 

Your 2021 Board Applicants | Karen Longley

Karen has dual French and South African citizenship. She has spent most of her professional life working in France and returned to South Africa in 2012.

 After completing a BSc (Botany and Zoology) at WITS University and initially working as a vegetation ecology technician for the Botanical Research Institute in Pretoria, Karen relocated to France and, unable to find work as a botanist, decided to reinvent her career as a language trainer.

 In 2000, she became the director of Applilangue SARL, a language training company based in Dijon (21) France.

 In 2012, she returned to South Africa and created Leading Language in 2013. Leading Language is specialised in tailor-made language training, business communication skills training and translations for corporate clients.

 With more than 30 years in the corporate training industry, she has developed her skills in the creation, organisation and implementation of training programmes. In 2020, with an impending lockdown, she made the decision to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digitise her business activity to online training.

 As a committed woman entrepreneur, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of the FSACCI since 2017 and was selected to be part of the 2020 Graça Machel Trust Women Creating Wealth programme in 2020. She successfully completed the programme and is now part of the WCW Connect & Inspire alumni, continuing to provide mentoring and inspiration to women entrepreneurs. She has also recently formed an alliance between the FSACCI and the Graça Machel Trust.

Your 2021 Board Applicants | Wouter Vermeulen

Wouter (40 yrs) is the General Manager for Air France KLM in Southern Africa since 2018. Recently he has been appointed as General Manager for Nigeria, Ghana, East- & Southern Africa. He holds a Bachelor and Master Degrees in Economics & Law. Previously he has worked in Brazil as Commercial Director for South America and in Amsterdam in various roles within the Pricing and Revenue management department. Wouter has held board positions in various chambers of commerce in South America and South Africa. Currently he is the Chairperson of the Board of Airlines Representatives Southern Africa (BARSA).
