Back To | From Paris to Joburg: 45 Years of Business Excellence

The France–South Africa Investment Week concluded yesterday in Paris with a prestigious Gala Dinner, a fitting close to two days of powerful dialogue, sectoral collaboration, and renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

In his remarks at the Gala, South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile emphasised the success of the mission:

“We came here to strengthen our bilateral relations with France, particularly economic cooperation. After my meeting with President Macron this morning, I concluded that our objective is achieved... I said, when I come back to the next conference, I want to say trade between South Africa and France has more than doubled. I want to say to all of you, now that we have had this successful conference, let’s do it. I rely on you. We’re going to get this done.”

France in South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi Ambassador, David Martinon, also reaffirmed the strength of this partnership:

“President Macron firmly believes in the necessity to work together and stimulate business and trade between our two countries. The idea of a business council between France and South Africa was proposed... and now, we diplomats must deliver.”
