Back To | Integrity As A Competitive Advantage

FSACCI recently joined Good Governance Africa and several international business chambers in co-hosting an executive breakfast on Integrity as a Competitive Advantage: From Compliance to Prevention.

The event brought together business leaders, governance experts and policymakers to explore how ethical leadership, accountability and strong governance can strengthen business resilience and long-term competitiveness.

The programme featured keynote speaker Dr Max Burger-Scheidlin, Executive Director of the International Chamber of Commerce Austria, alongside an expert panel that included former Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, Wayne Duvenage of OUTA, Karam Jeet Singh of Good Governance Africa and Prof Bernard Agulhas. Discussions highlighted the importance of moving beyond compliance towards preventative approaches that create value while strengthening trust and transparency.

A recurring theme throughout the event was that integrity is not only a governance requirement but also a strategic business advantage. Speakers emphasised the need for effective oversight, independent leadership, trusted reporting mechanisms and meaningful accountability to build stronger organisations and support sustainable economic growth.

FSACCI was pleased to contribute to this collaborative initiative alongside fellow bilateral chambers, reinforcing the value of cross-sector dialogue in advancing good governance across South Africa.
