Back To | Pétanque Brings FSACCI and Italian Chamber Members Together in Cape Town

The French-South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s pétanque event, organised in collaboration with the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industries, brought members and guests from both business communities together for an evening of networking, cultural exchange and friendly competition.
The event provided participants with an opportunity to connect outside of a traditional business setting. Guests were able to meet new contacts, strengthen existing relationships and engage in conversations across both the French and Italian business communities.
A particular highlight of the evening was the opportunity to learn and play bocce, the Italian version of pétanque. Participants were introduced to the basic rules and techniques before taking part in friendly competition. The games also sparked a good-natured rivalry, with the French team showing plenty of competitive spirit throughout the evening.
Beyond the competition itself, the event created a welcoming environment in which participants could share experiences, exchange ideas and enjoy one another’s company. The combination of sport and informal networking helped make conversations feel natural and engaging, while the friendly atmosphere ensured that both newcomers and regular members felt included.
Overall, the event successfully combined sport, culture and networking, creating an enjoyable and memorable evening for both business communities. The positive participation and lively atmosphere demonstrated the value of collaborative events that bring members together in a more relaxed setting.
