Back To | Welcome Cocktail for New Arrivals in Cape Town
On 14 October 2025, the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the Welcome Cocktail for New Arrivals at the Alliance Française du Cap. The event was hosted by the Consulate General of France in Cape Town.
The evening brought together organisations that support the French-speaking community in Cape Town, including Cape Town Accueil, L’Entraide, Lycée Français International du Cap, Alliance Française du Cap, and Le Cap Sportif, a member of the Chamber.
Mme Sophie Bel, Consule Générale of France in Cape Town, opened the evening with a welcome address and introduced the consular team. She outlined the role of the Consulate and presented the French associations active in the region.
Benjamin Cabouat, newly appointed Deputy Head of Mission at the French Embassy in South Africa, shared key safety guidelines for newcomers settling in Cape Town.
The event ended with conversations, networking, and a strong sense of community. FSACCI was represented by Vice-President Philip Geromont and Regional Committee Member Gilles Blanc.
FSACCI thanks the Consulate General for hosting this meaningful gathering that strengthens ties within the French-speaking community in South Africa.
