Africa Forward – Inspire & Connect | May 11: A Day to Accelerate Africa–France Partnerships
On May 11 in Nairobi, the Africa Forward – Inspire & Connect forum, co-organized by Business France, Bpifrance, and Proparco, brought together more than 2,000 African and European decision-makers around a common objective: turning ambitions into concrete projects.
Key highlights at the heart of economic challenges
The day was structured around inspiring sessions focused on high-potential sectors, namely, energy, agribusiness, technology, cultural industries, and youth empowerment, showcasing concrete projects and private-sector success stories. Among the key moments, the agoras — particularly Cross Perspectives and Overseas Territories provided additional insight into regional dynamics, economic complementarities, and cooperation opportunities. Discussions also focused on talent, innovation, and job-creating industries, reflecting a strong desire to build lasting partnerships between Africa and France.
Matchmaking & networking: the heart of the forum
Beyond the conferences, Africa Forward stood out through its Connect area dedicated to B2B meetings — a true engine for opportunities. Thanks to a matchmaking platform and structured networking pathways, nearly 70 companies were supported through a Business France delegation, and close to 1000 business meetings were scheduled during the forum. A practical initiative designed to identify strategic partners, accelerate projects, and create lasting alliances.
Spotlight on the V.I.E Company Awards for Africa
A major highlight of the program, the V.I.E Company Africa Awards celebrated both internationally engaged companies and the young talents driving their development. The speech by Louis Margueritte emphasized the strategic role of the V.I.E program by Business France in supporting exports and promoting French expertise internationally. The awards ceremony, presented by Nicolas Forissier and Sophie Sidos, honoured these exemplary and inspiring success stories.
A Day dedicated to connecting, inspiring, and transforming
In the service of a renewed economic relationship between Africa, France, and Europe.
