Member News | Schneider Electric Strengthens Its Leadership Team in Sub-Saharan Africa
Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, has announced two strategic leadership appointments for its Sub-Saharan Africa operations, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth, digital transformation and resilient infrastructure across the region.
Nicole Malan has been appointed as the new Vice President, Power Systems and Infrastructure for its Sub-Saharan Africa operations. With 18 years in the electrical, energy, and construction sectors, Malan offers entrenched international expertise across Europe, Africa, and the Islands. She has a proven track record of delivering complex, multi-unit projects and driving profitable growth.
In her new role, Malan will oversee Schneider Electric’s Power Systems and Infrastructure business across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on accelerating the energy transition, advancing digitalisation, and delivering efficient and sustainable power infrastructure solutions.
Prior to her new role, Malan was Vice President for Power Systems in Francophone Africa, where she strengthened the company’s regional presence and advanced its integrated power strategy.
“I am honoured to take on this role and advance Schneider Electric’s mission across Sub-Saharan Africa. We are committed to delivering sustainable energy solutions that empower customers, strengthen partnerships, and drive regional growth,” said Malan.
Steven Santini has been appointed as the Vice President of Secure Power for Sub-Saharan Africa. The Secure Power division delivers intelligent operational technologies and ecosystems that safeguard the world’s most critical infrastructure.
With more than 15 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, channel leadership, and strategic alliances, Santini brings a wealth of experience in building solution-driven ecosystems that bridge the gap between IT and OT technologies.
Born in South Africa, Santini returns to brings deep expertise in IT infrastructure, from compute and storage to software defined solutions. Since joining Schneider Electric UK&I in 2018, he has driven transformation as IT Channel Director, shifting the business from hardware sales to a solutions led model.
He has recently led global strategic alliances, shaping methodologies that drive enterprise data centres, prefabricated solutions, and sustainability focused software.
“We should not be selling products but deliver outcomes. The conversation then shifts from racks and power distribution units to business performance, resilience and sustainability,” says Santini.
Together, these appointments strengthen Schneider Electric's regional leadership as the company continues to support customers with innovative, sustainable energy and digital infrastructure solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa.
