Positive Planet International is launching a new project for a sustainable access to energy in Lesotho

The situation in Lesotho is of concern, only 27% of the population has access to grid electricity. In order to eliminate this barrier to economic development, Positive Planet International, a French organisation working in economic development, launched a new project in March 2018 with the backing of the European Union. The three-year program, in partnership with Rural Self-Help Development Association, a local NGO and with key resources from Reciprocity, aims to develop a sustainable social business that will promote and distribute efficient and renewable energy products to be used in rural homes and by smallholder farmers in five districts of Lesotho. The range of products to be tested includes solar lights, cell phone chargers and energy efficient stoves and more.
