Women in Business
On March the 7th and 8th of March, FSACCI in partnership with Polygot Group organised a series of three events, in Cape Town and Johannesburg, to celebrate International Women's Day.
FSACCI organised three different events to celebrate the 2019 International Women's day.
- On March 7th, a Women Empowerment Speed-Mentoring and Networking event at Mazars in Johannesburg, organised with SANEC, BCCSA and in partnership with Polyglot Group.
This event saw 80 women in business come together for a night of mentorship, advice and celebration of the triumphs of women in business. 40 Senior women in business and 40 junior women in business participated in a speed-mentoring session, whereby seniors lent their expertise, experience and advice. Additionally, juniors provided their perspectives and insights to the seniors. A great display of the how women can leverage their networks and strengthen their positions in business.
- On March 7th, a Workshop on sexual harassment in the work place, organized at Fasken with SANEC, BCCSA and in partnership with Polyglot Group.
This workshop, was comprised of an expert panel comprised of two legal perspectives (Fasken), a HR perspective (Leroy Merlin) and and expert from the CCMA. An in-depth and comprehensive look at issues of sexual harassment in the work place was provided, and stimulated a robust , and very necessary, conversation between participants.
- On March 8th, a Panel-Discussion on Women Empowerment organized at the Alliance Française of Cape Town with the following panelists:

- Irene Ochem, Founder and CEO Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum
- Laurence Esteve, Co-founder and CEO Zip Circus School - Wahida Parker, Managing Director Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
