Sal Govender is the Vice President for Bureau Veritas Southern Africa, a globally recognized leader in the fields of testing, certifications and inspections. Prior to this she was Marketing, Communication and Sales Leader for Cummins Southern Africa and Strategy & Marketing Director for Lafarge SA. She has over 20 years in Marketing and Communications in sectors that vary from Petrochemicals to Tourism, Construction, Automotive and Regulations.

Before making her way into General Management, Sal has held the role of Marketing Director for over 10 years with her first foray being at the Durban International Convention Centre, where together with her marketing team, several international conferences and concerts were hosted in the City of Durban. Sal has an MBA from UKZN. A huge advocate of authenticity she looks at how integrated sustainable strategies resonate with a brand's DNA to breed authentic brands.

In 2015, Sal was voted by Elle Magazine as one of South Africa’s top three female bosses in South Africa and in 2016 served on the Elle Boss judging panel.
