Industry Biases Panel Discussion | Speed-mentoring

Dear FSACCI Members, Partners & Friends.

Thank you in your interest and enthusiasm in attending our scheduled Women in Business event series in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to such a pivotal topic, particularly in light of International Women’s Day yesterday.

We regret to inform you, following our FSACCI Executive meeting last week, that due to unforeseen circumstances we are forced to postpone the event series to a later date. This decision was made after deep consideration and in consultation with our sponsors, Polyglot Group and Fasken.

We maintain our commitment, along with our original partners in this event series (Mazars, Fasken and the Polyglot Group), to supporting the empowerment of women in business and the women in our respective networks.

We extend our sincere apologies but look forward to rescheduling the event series at a later date.

We remain available to attend to any of your questions and wish you an excellent week.

Women in Business 2020 | Industry Biases

The workplace environment for women has changed drastically in recent years however, women still face a powerful yet subtle and often invisible barrier to equality, recognition and growth in the work place. These biases arise from cultural assumptions and organisational structures, practises, and patterns of interaction that inadvertently benefit men while putting women at a disadvantage.

In light of International Women’s Day, FSACCI and HBC-SA are proud to present our second annual event series:

Women in Business

In partnership with Work&Co, Polygot Group and Fasken.

This much anticipated event will kick off with a panel discussion on industry biases, with a focus on the ‘traditionally’ male-associated industries such as Mining and Energy.

Thereafter, we will celebrate and engage with the women in our respective networks over a Speed-Mentoring Session.

What is speed-mentoring?

Women just entering or in the start of their career get the opportunity to network and receive advice from senior women in business. Get information about your career, how to achieve success and tips and tricks of the trade. We invite all women to register for this event either as a junior or senior profile, and let’s help strengthen women in business!

Finally, we will conclude the event with a networking cocktail – an opportunity to strengthen our networks of women whilst sipping a glass of bubbly.
