The French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) attended the 2026 World Travel Market Africa in Cape Town, held on Tuesday, 14 April. The event included the Responsible Tourism Awards, which recognise efforts across the travel sector.
As the official Representation Office in South Africa for Île de La Réunion Tourisme, FSACCI took part in the event at the La Réunion Ultimate Island stand. The delegation joined Île de La Réunion Tourisme and tourism professionals from the island to present its travel offering to the South African market.
The platform enabled direct engagement with travel trade professionals. FSACCI and its partners shared insights on the destination and explored opportunities to increase travel flows between South Africa and La Réunion. The discussions focused on market access, partnerships, and product visibility.
During the event, the stand received visits from industry stakeholders, including tour operators, travel agents, and business representatives. These interactions supported efforts to position La Réunion as a travel option for South African tourists.
FSACCI also noted the participation of its members at the event. African Eagle Day Tours. CFAO Mobility South Africa, representing Hertz Rent a Car, Dollar Car Rental, and Thrifty Car Rental. Their presence contributed to business exchange and sector visibility.
WTM Africa remains a key meeting point for the tourism industry. It brings together stakeholders from across the value chain to connect and identify business opportunities.
