Back To | EU Trade and Investment Breakfast with Wesgro

On 16 February, the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) proudly co-hosted the annual Trade and Investment Breakfast in partnership with Wesgro and fellow European bilateral chambers, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening economic ties between Europe and the Western Cape.
As a leading convenor of the European business community in South Africa, FSACCI played a central role in bringing together key public and private stakeholders to advance dialogue around trade, investment, and sustainable growth.
Europe remains South Africa’s largest trading partner, representing R840 billion in annual trade and accounting for 42.5% of total foreign direct investment. Against this backdrop, the Breakfast served as an important platform to translate strategic partnerships into measurable economic impact.
The event welcomed Premier Alan Winde, Minister Ivan Meyer, Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews and Ambassadors, whose contributions reinforced a shared commitment to investment, innovation, sustainability and job creation in the Western Cape.
Organised in collaboration with the Austrian Business Chamber in South Africa, Belgian Chamber of Commerce in South Africa, British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa, Business Ireland South Africa, BusinessNL ZA, EU Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Southern Africa, Nordic South African Business Association, South African Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Southern African German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of South Africa, the Breakfast reflected the strength and unity of Europe’s business footprint in the region.
Through initiatives such as this, FSACCI continues to position itself at the forefront of facilitating strategic dialogue and unlocking tangible opportunities for its members.
