Forvis Mazars, in collaboration with the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI), and the American Chamber of Commerce South Africa, hosted a Post-Budget CFO Thought Leadership event in Johannesburg on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
The event took place at the Forvis Mazars Johannesburg office and brought together chief financial officers and senior finance leaders to review the outcomes of South Africa’s 2026 budget announcement.
The session focused on the implications of the 2026 South African National Budget Speech for corporate strategy, governance, and financial planning. Speakers provided insights into fiscal policy, economic outlook, and the potential impact on business operations in the year ahead.
Annabel Bishop, Chief Economist at Investec Bank Limited South Africa, delivered an economic overview and examined how current policy decisions may influence growth, investment, and financial markets. Elzahne Henn, Tax Consulting Director at Forvis Mazars, then presented an analysis of the key tax and regulatory developments arising from the budget. The session was moderated by Althea Soobyah, Partner and National Head of Tax at Forvis Mazars.
Participants took part in a question-and-answer session that addressed issues raised by finance executives across sectors.
The event concluded with a networking lunch that allowed attendees to exchange perspectives and strengthen connections within the finance leadership community.
