Neil SearlePartner: Fasken

Neil has broad experience in various aspects of labour relations, employment, immigration and health and safety law. His particular focus is on employment litigation in the Labour Court, CCMA and bargaining councils.

Neil represents a wide variety of employers and senior executives in employment disputes. He provides strategic advice on the prosecution and settlement of such disputes. Neil advises clients on retrenchments and business transfers with a particular focus on achieving the client’s broader business objectives. He is sought by clients for his prompt, clear and cost-effective advice. In all matters, Neil aims to provide effective and innovative solutions to the challenges presented to local and international clients by South Africa’s unique labour regime.

Neil is the President of the Young Scholars Society (YSS) of the South African Society for Labour Law (SASLAW). The YSS is responsible for extending the reach of SASLAW amongst young lawyers and scholars. In this position, Neil has attended and presented papers at international conferences hosted by the International Society for Social Security and Labour Law (ISSSL) in Dublin in 2014 and in Cape Town in 2015
