Sherisa Rajah is a labour, employment and human rights lawyer in Fasken’s Johannesburg office. With a particular focus on forensic enquiries relating to employee misconduct, labour litigation and employment law, she represents clients in the financial, manufacturing (including automotive manufacturing), pharmaceutical, construction, mining, and SoE and municipal sectors. Sherisa has also acted for a number of incubator funds empowering entrepreneurs in the start up space. Sherisa's experience extends to across multiple jurisdictions in Africa.

An experienced practitioner, Sherisa assists clients with grievances, chairing and prosecuting disciplinary hearings, drafting pleadings and various applications, including restraints of trade, and conducting trials in the Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court and the Constitutional Court in the public and the private sector. She is no stranger to the Public Servants Act or the Public Finance Management Act, as a result.

Dealing with a broad range of mandates on behalf of clients, she skillfully handles demarcation disputes, contracts of employment, benefit and incentive schemes, forensic enquiries relating to employee misconduct, and conducting employment and corporate governance focussed due diligence investigations relating to human resources, and restraint of trade advice and litigation.

In terms of arbitrations, she deals with in limine applications pertaining to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, and other statutory tribunals. Sherisa also has expertise in labour relations management issues in the workplace, including collective bargaining with the trade unions, and providing advice and training on the interpretation and application of employment legislation.
