Lucien is managing director at Phukubje Pierce Masithela Attorneys (“PPM”). He focuses on the commercial and regulatory aspects of telecommunications, media, technology. He covers matters such as commercial transactions, satellite frequency-spectrum licence applications, information security, data protection and fintech. He deals with contentious and non-contentious aspects in these areas of law.

After being admitted as an attorney, he spent two years in London where he was seconded to renowned TMT law firm, Bird & Bird, and global telco – Cable & Wireless. He then spent four years in the TMT department of a large commercial law firm, before starting PPM in 2004.

Lucien has represented and represents organisations such as ICASA, China Telecoms, Primedia, Afrox, SITA, Anglo American and a multinational cloud services provider on ICT and information security matters.

Lucien sits on the Disciplinary Committee of South Africa’s Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors and is vice-president of the International Social Media Association.
