365 Days until the Olympic Games 26 July 2024
Today marks one year until the start of the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
Preparations in Paris and to commemorate the one year mark the Olympic torch was revealed. The torch which will be lit for the first time in Olympia, Greece on the 16th April 2024, is made from recycled and renewable steel. On top of that the committee only made 2000, to limit their carbon footprint.
The lighting of the Olympic torch is a symbol of the friendship and peace between people, and furthermore the nations that will be participating in the games.
The iconic ceremony often signals to most people the true beginning of the Olympic season.
