Brexit: is a general election inevitable?

An exclusive webinar by The Economist Intelligence Unit

Whoever is installed as British prime minister today, the team of The Economist believe that the Brexit impasse will lead to a general election in late 2019 or early 2020. This is because Theresa May's successor will be unable to secure concessions from the EU, while the situation in the British parliament will remain gridlocked.

Against this backdrop, many questions remain:

•What happens if the UK parliament fails to prevent a 'no deal' outcome before October 31st?

•What choice will voters face in the general election?

•When will the Brexit saga come to an end?

Please join them for a webinar on July 30th at 3pm British Summer Time / 10am Eastern Daylight Time where Agathe Demarais,  Director of Global Forecasting, will discuss their latest Brexit forecast in more detail with their principal economist for Europe, Emily Mansfield. There will be an opportunity to ask them questions on their forecasts.
