Conference with Work in the city

In collaboration with FSACCI, Work In The City JHB will receive Xolani Ngazimbi, sociologist for her work on one of the 5 components on BEE: Employment Equity. 
Her presentation will provide a brief overview of the legislation that has been put in place, since the fall of apartheid, to facilitate transformation in the work-place. Focussing on black women in particular, the presentation will also offer a glimpse into the lived experiences of Black women senior managers and how they navigate the socio-cultural and institutional boundaries in environments that have largely remained white and male.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Xolani Ngazimbi is a South-African Sociologist working on a PHD that explores transformation in the workplace.
She currently manages the Strategy and Planning department at the National Empowerment Fund. She will be presenting from her thesis which explores identity politics and employment equity in post-apartheid corporate South Africa.
