ISO/COPOLCO events week in Harare

The 41st COPOLCO meeting and related events will take place in Harare, Zimbabwe from 21-24 May 2019, at the kind invitation of Standards Association of Zimbabwe. Dr Eve Gadzikwa, Director General of SAZ and President of the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO), and her team look forward to meeting you.

This will be the first COPOLCO (ISO's Committee on Consumer Policy) week in sub-Saharan Africa, presenting a unique opportunity to discuss standards as tools for consumer protection among stakeholders from Zimbabwe and other countries in the region.

The highlight of the week will be the 2019 COPOLCO workshop on 23 MayTowards inclusive growth – how can standards help?

This event will consider standards for new business models and technologies as tools for inclusive economic growth and consumer protection. The workshop will bring together a variety of stakeholders to explore how key standards can enhance business opportunities for smallholders while improving health and safety outcomes for consumers. 

There will be a French delegation, with:

  • Rémi Reuss, project manager at AFNOR (Association Française de Normalisation)
  • Mme Anne Lucet-Dallongeville, from the Confédération Nationale du Logement (CNL) and board member of AFNOR
