LIFSA: Congratulations to our 9 new laureates for 2025
The Alliance Française de Johannesburg has gathered its partners for a beautiful evening to announce the winners of the third edition of the ‘Local Initiatives Fund - South Africa’ (LIFSA), which aims to support civil society initiatives in Gauteng.
The Local Initiatives Fund South Africa (LIFSA) is an initiative of the Government of Monaco in partnership the Alliance Française de Johannesburg, with the support of the French Embassy in South Africa, the Embassy of Switzerland in South Africa and the Saxon Hotel. LIFSA is open to the private companies who would like to invest in a turnkey CSR program.
During the night, they announces the 9 new laureates for 2025. The 9 projects focused on food security, education, women's empowerment, health and social inclusion have been funded for a total amount of R 1,440,000.

🔹HINDA MZALA 🎭 The Voice of the Women - Raising awareness and fighting against gender-based violence through art and culture. Objective: to reach 500 members of the Katlehong community and amplify the voices of survivors.
🔹 WILDHEARTS🩸 StartHer in Health Initiative – Provision of 199,955 reusable sanitary pads to enable girls to stay in school, while employing women from disadvantaged backgrounds.
🔹 SACRED HEART COLLEGE📚 Three2Six Refugee Children's Education Project – Improving learning conditions for refugee and migrant children in Johannesburg, with psychosocial support and a food program.
🔹 OUTREACH FOUNDATION 🌿 Sustainable Food Practices through Urban Farming and Food Safety Education – Introduction of sustainable urban agricultural techniques in three schools in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, to encourage better eating habits and raise awareness of food safety.
🔹 PHOLA 🧠 Improving the Mental Health of Vulnerable Women – Reduction of symptoms of depression in 300 women survivors of violence and trauma in five disadvantaged neighborhoods of Johannesburg.
🔹 HAND IN HAND 👶 The Teen Mom's Safe-Haven – Reintegration of teenage mothers
into the education system and provision of childcare to ensure their professional future.
🔹 MALAMULELE 🦽 Empowering Parents and Caregivers of Children with Cerebral Palsy – Support for 85 children with cerebral palsy and training for 84 parents and caregivers in Ekurhuleni to improve their care.
🔹 DITSHEGO 🍎 Food Garden Project – Training of 30 women in permaculture and resource management in Mooiplaas to combat food insecurity and promote economic independence.
🔹 HAMBA BAMBA FUNDA 🏡 Strengthening Early Childhood Development – Relocation and expansion of a crèche and early childhood training center in Soweto, with an innovative research and teacher training program.
These projects, led by leaders of change, mark a significant step forward for their communities by improving their living conditions.
