Back To | CIPC Amendments - Navigate SA's Business Compliance Landscape in 2024

On Thursday, February 22nd, the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) hosted a comprehensive event discussing the latest amendments from the CIPC - Companies and Intellectual Property Commission.

Our speaker, Nelene Naicker, Managing Director at Artemis Group, delved into key procedures, focusing on identity verification and multi-factor authentication for director amendments.

Here are the key takeaways from her presentation:

1. Resignations and New Appointments: The automated process will handle changes related to resignations and new appointments. Other application statuses require further handling by the Back Office.

2. Identity Card Verification: The issue date of identity cards for filers and directors is now cross-checked with records from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). Discrepancies are addressed by the DHA, not the CIPC.

3. Foreigners' Passport Verification: Verification of foreign passports is now mandatory before changes can be made.

4. One-Time Password (OTP) Verification: OTP verification via SMS and email is required from both filers and directors affected by changes, ensuring authenticity.

We thank our speaker Nelene Naicker for sharing her expertise.

As well as the participants for joining this very informative session.
