On Wednesday 14th February, Wesgro (Cape Town & Western Cape Tourism, Trade & Investment) hosted the EU Chambers Breakfast featuring the participation of all European Chambers of Commerce in South Africa - including the French South African Chamber of Commerce & Industry and its members - at the Royal Yacht Club in Cape Town! 

The breakfast emphasized the great investment opportunities in the Western Cape region to boost economic revival.

Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde underlined the importance of public-private partnerships in tackling South Africa's challenges, particularly in logistics and energy,  followed by Mireille Wenger, the Western Cape Minister for Finance and Economic Opportunities, who highlighted how crucial the EU is for the province's economy. 

Alderman James Vos, Cape Town's mayoral committee member for Economic Opportunities, highlighted the economic toll of logistical inefficiencies, particularly port congestion. 

While Wrenelle Stander, CEO of Wesgro, highlighted the increasing significance of the private sector in South Africa's economy, particularly in critical areas such as energy and logistics.

European Ambassador Sandra Kramer stressed the need for enhanced collaboration for smoother investments, acknowledging the event's success and closing the event by expressing gratitude to attendees.

Overall, the speakers emphasized the necessity of bolstering collaboration between the Western Cape region and the EU to encourage investments.
