Last Wednesday we had the pleasure to host a rich discussion in collaboration with Fliptin Technologies about "E-commerce as the driving force of the AfCFTA -  can Blockchain foster trust in the ecosystem?" thanks to brilliant panelists. 

MEET THE EXPERTS: 

Dr Alastair Tempest - CEO at E-Commerce Forum South Africa introduced the African Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), it objectives and challenges for the African continent. He highlighted the current issues such as the different currencies within Africa as well as the opportunities such as the smart contract to be implemented to facilitate trade in Africa.

Lucien Pierce - Director at PPM Attorneys shared his legal expertise and intensified the discussion on regulatory aspects, information security and data protection. He mentioned for example that the use of crypto currency based on good practises shall create a more stable environment for businesses; it is in fact the South African Reserve Bank that encourages friendly behavior with crypto . 

Lee Chana - Partner at Fliptin Technologies took the role of moderator to entertain the conversation with our audience and asked very specific questions to our experts. Passionate about tech, she believes in the use of blockchain to create transparency and trust and explained the benefits of using Blockchain for the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The panel discussion was followed by a wine testing with UJVA to extend the networking session with our experts.
