Bombela and AGL Lead Green Initiatives on World Environment Day
This World Environment Day, two of the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (FSACCI) platinum members, Bombela Operating Company (Gautrain) and Africa Global Logistics (AGL), showcased their dedication to environmental stewardship.
AGL's Global Impact
Embracing the theme "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience," AGL teams in Togo and Mozambique took action. They planted hundreds of trees, managed waste, and inspired future generations with educational initiatives.
In Togo, CEO Charles Kokouvi GAFAN and his team joined the government's reforestation campaign.
In Pemba, Mozambique, AGL partnered with Paquitequete Primary School to educate the community and involve them in sustainable practices.
Bombela's Green Vision
As the operator of the Gautrain, Bombela understands the importance of sustainable transportation. Their electric trains produce zero emissions and significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the transportation sector, improving air quality in urban areas. Activities included cleaning the station and surrounding areas, fumigation, educational activities, and health and safety inspections.
