In an ongoing effort to build collaboration in education and skill development, South Africa’s Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, welcomed the French Ambassador to South Africa, Mr David Martinon, along with a distinguished delegation from the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) to the Department of Basic Education (DBE) headquarters in Pretoria on the 4th of November.
This partnership aims to strengthen initiatives in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Vocational Education and Training, and Teacher Development, essential areas to equip future generations with critical skills.
The “Education Business Breakfast,” hosted by the Minister of Basic Education, presented an opportunity for FSACCI members to engage directly with South African and French stakeholders, sharing insights on fostering impactful education initiatives.
Representing FSACCI, Chairperson Dr Yves Guénon joined members Schneider Electric, CFAO South Africa, Veolia, and L’Oréal, alongside key delegates from the French Embassy.
These members, actively involved in South Africa’s education and skill development sectors, are poised to support the DBE’s mission through innovative programs, resource sharing, and technical expertise.
Each company is a leader in its sector, with Schneider Electric, CFAO South Africa, and Veolia specializing in areas ranging from energy to sustainable development, and L’Oréal focusing on inclusive education and empowerment initiatives.
