Zimbabwe's President commends Saint-Gobain for its continuous investment in the country

President Emmerson Mnangagwa commended Saint-Gobain for its continuous investment and confidence in the country's development potential.

On Monday 19 October, 2020, during a tour of the Saint-Gobain plant in Harare, President Emmerson Mnangagwa commended Saint-Gobain for its continuous investment and confidence in the country's development potential.

With the Weber plant in Zimbabwe powered entirely by solar energy and reflecting our commitment to sustainability and clean energy, both the President and Industry and Trade Minister, Dr Sekai Nzenza praised the company for its positive contribution towards Zimbabwe’s vision 2030. 

Speaking during the visit, David Zimano, General Manager for Saint-Gobain Zimbabwe, said that the company eagerly anticipates the boom expected in the construction and manufacturing industries for the coming year. 

CEO Jean-Claude Lasserre, echoed his sentiments by sharing that the company remains engaged in Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa despite the difficulties presented by Covid-19 to the economy.
