The French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) was honoured to organize an empowering webinar on International Women’s Day, around the topic of "Investing in Women to Accelerate Progress" with powerful speakers who have shared their experiences with us on this special day.
Our first speaker Nthabiseng Kubheka, Chief Executive Officer at Bombela Operating Company, delved into the topic of education and skills development, discussing the importance of education, skill-building initiatives, and mentoring for women's empowerment and societal advancement. She also emphasized that men should not be excluded from this process, on the contrary.
Mellony Ramalho, Sales, and Marketing Director at Bureau Veritas tackled the subject of leadership and representation. She started to acknowledge the fact that women are still under-represented in leadership positions despite the progress that has been made. She talked about the importance of women helping and supporting one another, encouraging women in leadership positions to share their knowledge with other women so that they can too have access to these high positions.
Finally, Leanne Kiezer, Head of Corporate Affairs at Danone Southern Africa, addressed the importance of women's health and well-being for their empowerment and self-growth. She also gave concrete examples of how to reach gender equality from a corporate perspective.
