Engie Africa, a platinum member of the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI), continues to lead the charge in advancing sustainable energy solutions across the continent.

Recently, the company had the honour of hosting Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, South Africa’s Minister of Electricity, along with esteemed partners at their Dedisa Peaking Power Plant in the Eastern Cape.

The Dedisa Peaking Power Plant stands as a testament to Engie Africa's commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.

As the first privately owned power generating plant initiated by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, this 355 MW greenfield Open Gas Turbine power plant plays a crucial role in South Africa's energy landscape.

It serves as a reliable source of electricity, particularly during peak demand times, contributing to the stability of the national grid and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to communities and industries alike.

Together with the Avon & Dedisa Peaking Power plants, Engie Africa is significantly bolstering South Africa’s electricity supply capacity.

By harnessing cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices, these power plants meet the nation's growing energy needs and stimulate long-term economic development in the surrounding areas.

They create employment opportunities, attract investment, and foster socio-economic empowerment, thus driving progress and prosperity across the region.
