Back To | Mandela Day 2025: FSACCI Members Volunteer at SPCA Sandton

On Friday, 18 July 2025, the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) hosted a Nelson Mandela Day initiative at SPCA Sandton in Johannesburg.

The event was part of the annual Mandela Day call to action, encouraging individuals and organisations to contribute 67 minutes of service to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

FSACCI members stepped out of the boardroom and into boots and gloves for a day of hands-on service. Participating companies included:

Volunteers took part in a range of activities to support SPCA Sandton’s operations. These included cleaning kennels, improving the garden and outdoor spaces, engaging in enrichment play with animals, and organising books for the launch of “The Madiba Shelf of Shared Stories,” a new SPCA reading corner initiative.

The initiative provided members with the opportunity to engage beyond the workplace, offering a space for informal networking and community engagement.

The event reflects FSACCI’s continued commitment to supporting social impact initiatives that align with members’ values and sense of responsibility.

FSACCI thanks SPCA Sandton for their partnership and guidance throughout the day, and all members who dedicated their time and energy.

The chamber encourages members to continue taking meaningful action within their communities, not only on Mandela Day, but throughout the year.
