First all-inclusive Club Med resorts in South Africa
South Africa is set to receive its first all-inclusive Club Med resorts, with a R2-billion local investment in northern KwaZulu-Natal, through a joint venture between Collins Residential and the international hospitality group.
For their location, the beach resort will be built in Tinley Manor, north of Ballito on the Dolphin Coast and will be highlighting KZN’s natural wonders such as the coast and a game reserve featuring South Africa’s internationally acclaimed “Big 5”.
This development is expected to create over 800 direct jobs and a further 1,500 indirect jobs, which will impact the local economy and empower individuals and families with newfound opportunities.
Club Med commits to eco-certifying the construction of all its new resorts with BREEAM, one of the most recognised international and independent eco-construction certifications in the world. In South Africa, they aim at achieving a 4-star rating from the Green Building Council of SA (GBCSA) for this development.
The construction period is estimated to be 28 months, commencing in early 2024, with the resort opening scheduled around July 2026.
Our member Club Med is renowned as the global leader and pioneer of premium all-inclusive holiday packages. The hospitality group focuses on both leisure and meetings and events (MICE) customers. With a presence in 40 countries, the group operates nearly 70 resorts. In Africa, South Africa will be the 6th country where Club Med has a presence. Currently they have resorts in Mauritius, Morocco, Senegal, Seychelles and Tunisia.
