Mazars co-hosted the Africa Day Business Forum

Mazars South Africa, in partnership with the Department of the Premier of the Western Cape and the Department of Agriculture, welcomed business delegations for the Africa Business Networking Forum on May 25th.

20 businesses from DRC, 5 from Angola, 3 from Rwanda and more than 150 from the Western Cape were attending the event. The event was part of the Western Cape's 2018 Africa Week celebrations and its aim was to bring together business people from across the continent. Africa Day celebrated its 22nd birthday and commemorated the founding of the African Union (AU). Discussions and meetings focused on the theme of "African Union Agenda 2063".

Presentations by General Consulates based in Cape Town from Angola, Ghana, Mozambique, Mauritius, Madagascar, Namibia and Zimbabwe, as well as by the Western Cape's Provincial Minister of Finance, provided an opportunity to discuss topics such as the new African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA).

Kariem Hoosain, a Partner at Mazars, said: "Africa is an important and strategic market for Mazars and its worldwide clients as they continue to invest and grow throughout Africa ."
