On 21 April 2026, the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an SMME Compliance and Administration Workshop in Johannesburg, with online access for members in other regions.
The session focused on “Navigating Compliance with Confidence” and addressed key regulatory and administrative requirements for small and growing businesses. The workshop brought together entrepreneurs, business owners, and industry experts to discuss practical approaches to compliance in South Africa.
Speakers covered SARS compliance, tax administration, and core business requirements. The session placed a strong focus on insurance and risk management. Experts outlined the role of insurance in protecting business operations, assets, and continuity.
Participants received guidance on types of insurance relevant to SMMEs, including public liability, professional indemnity, asset protection, and business interruption cover. The discussion also addressed how to assess risks, identify gaps in coverage, and avoid common errors when selecting policies.
Industry experts from Olea’s Kieren Vels and ReflectAll’s Natasha Niemandt, led discussions and shared case-based insights. The format allowed for direct engagement, with participants raising questions and discussing real business challenges.
The workshop highlighted the link between compliance, governance, and risk management. It also reinforced the need for businesses to align their insurance strategies with regulatory obligations.
FSACCI continues to support its members through targeted sessions that address operational challenges. This workshop forms part of ongoing efforts to equip SMMEs with tools to manage compliance and strengthen business stability.
