The French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI), in collaboration with the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industries and Le Cap Sportif, proudly hosted the inaugural Pétanque & Bocce Cup on Friday, 17 April 2026, at the Italian Club of Cape Town.
The event brought together members from across various networks for an afternoon of sport, connection and shared enjoyment. Participants began with pétanque, the much-loved French game in which players aim to throw metal boules as close as possible to a small wooden target ball, before transitioning to bocce, its Italian counterpart, where larger balls are rolled with precision along a court to outplay opponents.
To keep the energy high and conversations flowing, players competed in rotating teams of two, facing a variety of opponents throughout the session. This dynamic format ensured that everyone had the opportunity to meet new people, exchange ideas and build meaningful connections in a relaxed and engaging setting.
More than just a sporting event, the FSACCI Pétanque & Bocce Cup reflected the Chamber’s commitment to creating platforms where business meets leisure. Whether seasoned players or complete beginners, attendees embraced the friendly competition and vibrant atmosphere, making it a truly memorable occasion.
FSACCI extends its sincere thanks to all members, partners and participants who contributed to the success of this first edition. With many exciting events on the horizon, the Chamber looks forward to welcoming you again soon!
