Danone Southern Africa has announced the appointment of Nyaladzi Moyo as Country Director, effective 1 January 2026. The appointment forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in South Africa and support sustained growth in its Dairy business.
Moyo joined Danone in 2025 as Commercial Director and has since played a key role in driving sales performance and strengthening the company’s growth and execution capabilities. He brings a strong understanding of the South African market, as well as experience from previous roles at Beiersdorf Southern Africa and Procter & Gamble, where he worked both locally and in Canada.
He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Nelson Mandela University. His appointment reflects Danone’s focus on building strong local leadership to support the continued growth of the South African business.
“I’m honoured to step into this role at such a pivotal time for the business. South Africa is a key market with strong potential, and I look forward to building on the momentum already established. Together with the team, my focus will be on making our iconic brands like Nutriday, Ultramel, Yogisip and DanUp deliver meaningful value to our retail partners and our consumers”, says Nyaladzi Moyo.
This appointment is part of Danone’s broader efforts to build a more connected and responsive organisation across Africa. By strengthening leadership across key markets, the company aims to continue growing its Dairy business while delivering products that meet the needs of consumers across the region.
The recently appointed General Manager for Dairy Africa: Hendrik Born affirms “Nyaladzi is a well-deserved appointment and a strong leader with a proven track record. His consistent leadership and performance have naturally prepared him into this next phase of this career. His commitment and drive to strengthen the South African market clearly demonstrates the vision he holds, not only has for the region but for the business as well.”
With Nyaladzi Moyo heading up Southern Africa, Danone remains focused on its long-standing commitment to bringing health through food to more people, while continuing to grow its footprint across the continent.
