The French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) joined several bilateral chambers to mark International Women’s Day at a joint business event in Johannesburg on 5th March 2026.

The event brought together close to 100 women from across sectors.

SwissCham Southern Africa hosted the event with participation from the Austrian Business Chamber in South Africa, British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa, Belgian Chamber of Commerce in South Africa, and the Nordic-South African Business Association.

The programme focused on leadership and career growth. Saray Khumalo delivered the keynote address. She shared her experience of climbing Mount Everest and the lessons she applied in her professional life. She spoke about persistence after three failed attempts and her eventual success on the fourth climb. She highlighted resilience as a key factor in decision-making and leadership.

A panel discussion followed. Dr. Nontobeko Mbatha, Lynette Johnson, and Mapholo Ratau shared their business journeys. Tshiamo Molefe led the discussion and guided the exchange on challenges and growth in business.

Attendees engaged with speakers and peers during the session. The event created space for knowledge sharing and professional connections across the bilateral chamber network.

FSACCI’s participation supports its focus on business engagement and leadership development within its network. The chamber continues to take part in joint initiatives that connect members to wider business communities.
