Absa’s Muhammad Ali Bhikhan Wins Master Award at the 2025 South Africa CIO Summit

Johannesburg, South Africa [25 August 2025] - Muhammad Ali Bhikhan, Managing Executive and Chief Information Officer forAbsa Regional Operations (ARO), was recently awarded the Master Award at the 2025 South Africa CIO Summit.

The Master Award recognises technology leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision in navigating complex digital landscapes.

“This award is a personal achievement that I am proud of, but it is not only about me. It reflects the dedication and innovation of our ARO Technology teams across the continent, who work tirelessly to deliver meaningful solutions that make a difference for our customers every day,” says Muhammad Ali Bhikhan. The South Africa CIO Summit forms part of the World CIO 200 Summit series, now celebrating its 10th year. The global platform brings together more than 4,000 C-level executives from over 50 countries to celebrate innovation, overcome challenges, and shape the next generation of technology leadership across Africa and beyond. As part of this series, winners from the local editions will advance to the Grand Finale, hosted in Egypt from 15–18 September 2025, where Muhammad will represent South Africa.

These awards highlight the growing influence of African technology leadership globally and underscore the vital role innovation plays in shaping the future of financial services across the continent.
