Introducing FSACCI’s New Event & Member Experience Manager: Cynthia Kalenga-Tshimpumpu

The French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI) is pleased to introduce Cynthia Kalenga-Tshimpumpu as the Chamber’s new Event & Member Experience Manager. With over a decade of professional experience across international and multicultural environments, Cynthia brings strong expertise in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and event management.

Cynthia’s career began in the diplomatic and business development sector. She worked with the High Commission of Canada in Johannesburg and later with the U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa, where she coordinated exchange programs, events, and stakeholder networks. Her professional path then led her to Vodacom, where she supported senior leadership as an Executive Assistant and later served as a Digital Content Specialist, aligning events and communications with business objectives. Most recently, she worked with the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA), where she coordinated regional projects, organised convenings across Francophone Africa, and developed partnerships with key stakeholders.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand. This academic background provided her with a strong understanding of global political and economic systems, which continues to shape her interest in international collaboration, diplomacy, and cross-border partnerships.

Cynthia expressed that her motivation for joining FSACCI lies in the Chamber’s role in strengthening ties between France and South Africa. She views FSACCI as a dynamic platform where her skills in event management, bilingual communication, and stakeholder engagement can contribute to creating value for members. She looks forward to leading FSACCI’s event strategy, enhancing member engagement, and supporting the Chamber’s visibility as a key business network in Southern Africa.

Her vision is to build impactful flagship events that highlight French-South African partnerships and attract participation from both startups and established companies. She also aims to enhance the overall member experience, positioning FSACCI as a trusted partner for networking, knowledge exchange, and business growth.

Outside of her professional role, Cynthia is a dedicated mother. She shares that motherhood has strengthened her organisation, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that also influence her work. In addition, she contributes to community efforts by assisting the foreign community in alleviating food poverty through food parcel distribution, keeping her grounded and committed to making a difference.
