Adeline Sang Appointed Deputy Consul of France in Johannesburg

Adeline Sang joined the Consulate General of France in Johannesburg as Deputy Consul in September 2025.

Before her appointment, Mme Sang served for two years at the Cultural and Cooperation Service of the French Embassy in Pretoria (2023–2025). Between 2014 and 2023, she held various roles at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Paris, working in the Directorate for Global Affairs, the Directorate for French Nationals Abroad and Consular Administration, and the Human Resources Directorate.

Her experience spans cultural cooperation, administrative services, and international relations within the diplomatic network.

At the Consulate General, Mme Sang will support the mission of strengthening cooperation between France and South Africa. This includes enhancing ties with local institutions, businesses, and the French community, as well as ensuring quality service to French nationals in the region.

The Consulate’s priorities include supporting French economic activity in Southern Africa, assisting companies and investors, and facilitating travel and exchanges through its visa services, which serve South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia.

The Consulate also plays an essential role in civil affairs, social assistance, and electoral administration for the French community. Under the leadership of Consul General Samuel Ducroquet and Deputy Consul Adeline Sang, the Consulate will continue to strengthen bilateral relations and provide essential services to French citizens living or travelling in the region.
