COBASA Strengthens Franco–Southern African Collaboration Through Sector Engagement

COBASA continues to deepen its role as a bridge between French expertise and Southern African market opportunities. With more than three decades of experience advising on investment and industrial cooperation across Africa, the firm remains focused on identifying practical pathways for collaboration between French and regional stakeholders.

As part of this work, COBASA is welcoming Dr Julien Bonnet, French agronomist and plant geneticist, to South Africa for a series of engagements taking place from 19 to 30 March 2026. His visit brings together industry actors, researchers, and institutional partners to explore emerging opportunities in sustainable value chains and innovation-driven sectors.

Throughout the week, COBASA and its partners will be hosting a number of meetings, site visits, and sector discussions, including participation in the Hemp Fibre & Processing Conference (19–20 March). These engagements aim to foster dialogue between French expertise and Southern African operational knowledge, while identifying areas where pilot initiatives, research collaboration, and feasibility-driven investment could be developed.

Looking ahead, COBASA plans to expand these exchanges through targeted workshops, masterclasses, and roundtable discussions designed to connect French companies, regional stakeholders, and local entrepreneurs around key industrial opportunities across South Africa and the broader SADC region.

Members of the FSACCI network interested in learning more about these initiatives or participating in upcoming engagements are encouraged to reach out to the COBASA team for further information.
