On February 20, 2025, Minister Barrot met with the French community at an event organized by Consul General Etienne Chapon.
The Minister emphasized the vital role of French institutions, organizations, and businesses in South Africa, stating, “Without your action, the word of France that you are responsible for carrying would ring hollow. It is you who give it substance and heart.”
Minister Barrot’s engagement with the French community in Sandton underscores France’s dedication to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering collaborative efforts to tackle global issues.
On February 21, Minister Barrot met with representatives of the French business community to explore the investment landscape, business challenges, and strategic partnerships shaping the future of French companies in the region. Beyond opportunities in key sectors, our discussions also focused on how the private sector can support South Africa’s leadership within the G20, fostering stronger economic and diplomatic ties between our two nations.
